Travellers in the Avon district have reported that the annual Christmas harassment occurred as usual this year.

“We were evicted three times just before Christmas and it happens like that every year,” said Cotter, a traveller in the area. However, with the recent media furore about travellers and possible criminalisation in the offing, the festive harassment has been extended into the new year with further evictions in January and February.
