Cannabis Festival is massive success.
6th May 2000
The Cannabis Festival 2000 which took place in Brockwell Park South London on May 6th was an overwhelming success according to organisers and punters alike.
Beneath the blazing sunshine, around 40,000 people attended the busy free festival over the course of the day. There was no trouble, no arrests and a fantastic atmosphere. A march which set off from Oval station and arrived in Brockwell Park during the afternoon was populated by thousands of demonstrators demanding the legalisation of cannabis. Recent Home Office figures reveal that convictions for Cannabis offences are increasing under Jack Straw's regime at the Home Office.
