Sharp Sleeper
Squall 4, April/May 1993, pg. 23.
Sir George Young, Minister of Housing, and his entourage were hardly prepared for the alertness of one rough sleeper when they visited Lincoln Inn Fields a few months ago.
After Sir George had told the media cameras that he had just spent some time in the Fields talking to to the homeless, the aforementioned astute resident spoke out. “I have just timed your visit,” he said for all to hear. “You spent eight minutes in the Fields and only spoke to one person.” Apparently there were stifled coughs and embarrassment all round.
